Pencil Illustration

In the early 90s I worked for four years as an illustrator at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver. There were six of us working in the upstairs of an old building furnished with nothing more than a couple of tables, folding chairs and our little Mac SE’s which at the time were top of the line. We’d spend our days listening to the radio and shootin’ the breeze while we drew. I remember as the newbie my boss had given me an 8 ft. long schematic to draw on that 9″ monitor. The Air Force took good care of us, throwing parties in the hanger across the street which now houses the Big Bear Ice Arena. Thinking back that was one of my more enjoyable jobs.
